In a few words, Hinterland will be creating a small team focused on modding support for The Long Dark, which is great news for the long run to keep the game fresh for many years to come.
On the other hand, Hinterland also has the idea to branch The Long dark into two games, Story and Survival, with Survival receiving pay dlcs in the future to make it sustainable for the developer, after providing free updates for 7 years.
