Olle has survived the Näcken and met a new “friend”, aka a fairy-like presence that gave a boost to the glowy stone. However, it’s back to the dark and twisted world of Bramble, no rest for the wicked.

We get to dodge a big old flower, because apparently even those are freaking dangerous in this world (this resembles Elden Ring more and more) and then we meet the awful, no good Kärrhäxan (which seems not to be from actual folklore but is a fictional entity for the game) who demands sacrifice to gain godly powers.

“Kärr” means “marsh” in English and “häxan” is obviously the witch, so this name is a very literal description of what we’re dealing with.

Honestly, this episode broke me both gameplay-wise and story-wise. The cutesy creatures, fun little mini games don’t fit at all the other incredibly violent themes and the streak of hopelessness is absolutely crushing me personally. I can’t wait to finish this game and play something else that is less traumatizing.
