On my way home and I have time for a quick discussion as to why the emergency escape from Mars in The Martian ignores orbital mechanics. It’s still a fantastic book and movie, but, this small mistake is obvious to anyone who’s launched a rocket in Kerbal Space Program ( or real life, but more people play with rockets in KSP vs RL)
