Welcome back to GamerU, your home for the hottest guides to your favorite games. Today we're back on The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot and we'll look at some more strategic aspects in monster placement when customizing your dungeon. I think a good rule of thumb once you get really into customizing your perfect dungeon is that each mob should have an objective.
Sometimes the objective is super clear, I want that guy to kill the guy if he comes near him. Easy. Simple. But maybe there's more to creature/trap placement that can lead to a successful kill. Let's take for example this room I have here. I've created this narrow corridor, but it technically has two ways out of it. This means that I'll probably be wasting half of my creatures if the given hero doesn't choose to go down both paths I've created. But to prevent that I'm going to make a mob that has the objective of sending the hero the other way. With a couple of big creatures and some very obvious mines, the intruder will have to decide whether to go down the way with the bigger creatures or the one with a more spread out amount of mobs.
If the hero successfully goes down what he/she believes to be the easier path than my monster has successfully maintained their objective. Now that this creature has the objective of steering the hero clear of that area, I think I'll hide my gold mine behind this mob, because hopefully our enemy hero won't look farther than the choice of monster group A or monster group B. Sometimes objectives are a little less complicated than that. Maybe the mob of chickens' objective is just to move this hero in range of my turrets. Well that's pretty simple actually! Make the mob and have them chase as soon as they see the hero.
A simple objective, but in testing we discover it's got a fairly high success rate! These are the kind of things you should be thinking about when you place resources into protecting your precious loot. That's all here at GamerU, check back in later for more tips and tricks to your favorite games.
