Coming from someone who's first call of duty game was Advanced Warfare, and someone's who's played Battlefield since Battlefield 4. A unique first person shooter game is hard to come by these days, with the rough launch of Battlefield 2042 (which is a game I play almost non-stop now), the rougher state of Halo Infinite, and the absolute dumpster fires that were Cold War and Vanguard, Call of Duty MW2 is a *lateral* step in the right direction. It still doesn't quite tickle my fancy as a game that I absolutely NEED right this second, therefore I'll wait until holiday season to get this game on sale. However, in my few hours of playing I had fun, which is rare for me to say coming from an avid MW2019 player. Spawns were a bit erratic, but not nearly as bad as Vanguards. Enemy players were hard to see, which adds to the immersion of being a true-to-life FPS that closely resembles Battlefield, but on the other hand, adds another level of skill you have to have in order to play the game: Good Eyesight. Recoil was INTENSE, the graphics and animations are still top-tier like MW2019, but the barrel smoke after firing your weapon made it even harder to distinguish enemies you were shooting at, and shooting at you. Again, adding that immersion. But the immersion in this game feels almost unnecessary, just because I'm reminiscing of the older CoD games I never owned, like Black Ops 1, Ghosts, and The Original MW2. Those games were easier to get good at, now with the advancements in video game technology, MW2 (2022) can probably pass as a simulator game. But I will never compare this game to the likes of Battlefield, or Halo, or even Apex. All those games lie in their own different First Person Shooter ways. But I will reiterate what I said in the video above, Call of duty is becoming Battlefield with smaller maps.
