The Nerd Impact Podcast - Episode 47 - Daredevil: Yellow (2002) With Brion Salazar
‘Why do you wear yellow?’
Welcome to the Nerd Impact Podcast, where we discuss and dissect the books, comics, movies, TV shows, music and games that have had an impact on us and our lives.
In our Forty Seventh Episode, We take a look at Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s loveletter graphic novel, Daredevil: Yellow. Joining us, we have a special and incredibly insightful comic book fan, Brion Salazar.
Brion is a co-host at Around Comics Podcast, starting back in 2004 before the podcast boom, Brion and his team have interviewed or met some extremely notable comic writers and artists including Stan Lee. As humble as Brion was, he even mentions he had a small character named after himself written into Ed Brubaker’s Daredevil run.
With Brion, we dive into Daredevil: Yellow, Daredevil as a character, both in TV and Comics; We discuss the MCU and how it opened the gateway for geekdom and comic book lovers to no longer be a stigma and embrace the love of comics and their characters. Then we also hear some recommendations of new and smaller comics that Brion is currently reading!
Daredevil: Yellow is a great love letter to the old school style of the character before Frank Miller’s gigantic revamp gave us the Daredevil we all know and love today.
