The Next Generation & Portable Gaming | Streaming or Hardware?
I think it's safe to say at least Xbox and Sony will not be releasing a dedicated handheld that's it's own platform anytime soon. Sony ended production for the PlayStation Vita in Japan and US this year and Xbox just announced Project Xcloud which will be aiming to provide the Xbox Gamepass experience to any device.
Stepping a bit outside the circle we have Google with Google Stadia and now leaked Amazon will be revealing a streaming service in 2020...which makes a dumb amount of sense with the fact they run one of the biggest infrastructure solutions in the world - Amazon Web Services (basically a super data warehouse).
The last one standing...is Nintendo with their Nintendo Switch. How long will the Switch's concept go on for Nintendo? To me it should for awhile. It will be the one place you can get offline gaming when this streaming wave takes over...but at the same if it really does boom...Nintendo is gonna want a piece of that pie.
So what do you guys think will happen in 2020 in regards to portable gaming? Am I talking out of my buttocks? Do you hate me for saying what you DIDNT wanna hear? Probably...
