I just sped through the story with some fully upgraded gear, some moderately upgraded, and some not upgraded at all. It was a blast and not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be, though the last few missions have enemies with loads of health. The final boss took me around 13 minutes to beat -- it felt like a real ordeal
