Rey is now uber Mary Sue, who can weld metal doors into X-Wing foils, bring charred shield panels from a TIE fighter and install them in X-wing...shield panels, and do amazing electrical engineering to do extensive re-writing of the ship to make it space worthy.

This novel "fix" is so bad, it retcons The Last Jedi and the The Last Jedi artbook.
