The Pacific Pinball Museum
96I took my kids to the Pacific Pinball museum over the weekend and decided I'd collect some video to share. It's all recorded on an iPhone 4, so it's shaky and the sound is awful, but maybe you want to see this anyway. Before Space Invaders and PacMan Pinball machines were the game of choice, and though they were largely displaced new innovative machines continued to be developed to compete with what video games had to offer. The only company still producing new pinball machines is Stern with new tables costing about $6000. (They have a great youtube channel here http://www.youtube.com/user/sternpinballinc )
The museum is in Alameda, California and is open 7 days a week. Entry costs $15 for adults, $7.50 for kids and lets you play all the machines for free, they have over 1,000 in their collection, but only about 100 on display at once.
