It's a bit interesting how this turned out.

Under normal circumstances, it's probably safe to say that Ellen is the second hardest character to clear the game with. Regardless of that, after no-missing with Mima, I've been focusing on Ellen as the next step in difficulty, skipping characters with theoretically better survivability. This is because Ellen's EX attacks are very powerful (what happened to Marisa in this run illustrates that quite thoroughly). Not powerful enough to actually make her easier to use than a safer character like Kotohime or Marisa, and so survival with Ellen is still much more difficult in general, barring circumstances of extreme luck (again, like what happened against Marisa), however, the key advantage of having powerful attacks when going for a no-miss run is that they make it much easier to defeat Yumemi.
Every other boss in the game will intentionally take hits at (more or less) predictable times, meaning you can beat them by simply lasting long enough. However, Yumemi never takes intentional hits in the first round, meaning she can theoretically last forever. The only way she can actually be hit is if she traps herself in a situation where she can't possibly escape. With most of the safer characters, this is pretty unlikely (though still probably more likely than you'd initially expect, since the AI lacks any kind of foresight and traps itself in ways a human almost never would), however, other characters, such as Ellen, have attacks which happen to have a decent chance of exploiting the AI's stupidity. So while Kotohime may have a much easier time getting to Yumemi without dying, Yumemi herself becomes a pretty big obstacle. That's why I skipped straight to Ellen.
But anyway, GETTING TO THE POINT, I can't help but notice Yumemi was only hit by one EX attack in this run. Everything else was moons and fireballs. So...

So I guess Kotohime is next on the list. :v

tl;dr I'm back in school now and need to practice being needlessly long winded for all the papers I'll be writing.
