7The power of playing Magic The Gathering over just collecting the cards. We live in a world where people just want to collect the cards and products of the game we love. Collecting is way some people invest in MAGIC THE GATHERING. But as we all know as of late, that Wizards of the coast will print high demand cards, just to sell a set on new magic on top of selling reprint sets as well. With price increases on MTG product rise some, does not change the value of cards on the secondary market. in fact some cards can be bought individually for less that a dollar. Though in my personal experience, some singles hold a decent price around five dollars a piece. There are some cards that hold value over ten dollars. My point being, that the markets price of cards are reflecting cards that are being played in Commander and other formats. The players of Magic the gathering are holding the price of cards up for the collectors. But if a pure collector base of people started playing magic the gathering, they could also be a part of the reason that prices of singles go up in value. in short, my thought is that if more people played the game over all and collected the game, they could in turn, make the game more collectable.
