The PowerBook G4 Project: Part 1 - Overview and Diagnosis
It's time for a computer repair! I recently got 2 PowerBook G4s in from my job, and was asked to repair them. I thought this would make a great video, and decided to film the process of what it takes to fix a laptop like this, using my newly acquired iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit! The 2 PowerBooks are almost identical, except one has more RAM and a better processor then the other. The PowerBook with better specs turned out to have a failing LCD, so I decided to do a transplant and tear down the one with worse specs and re purpose some of its parts for the better machine. In this first video, I diagnose the problem and start removing the LCD frame!
