What a catharsis.

The kids escape. Ray was Isabella's child. Her existence was so cruel and everything she did was for her own survival. She really did care about the kids. She is happy they escaped...

Thanks to this episode, Isabella's Song was stuck in my head for a week at minimum.

There's so much here and it is the perfect windup for the next season. Poor Phil though. He knows what the orphanage is for and he still stayed behind with the younger kids to help the older ones get away. What a guy.

After watching the series and thinking about it while waiting to be able to upload these, I am even more excited for the second season in January. Because it is clear something way more complex than this season makes you believe is going on. Krone says Isabella is over thirty, but we see she was also raised on a farm. That means the farm system exists BEFORE 2015, which is the last year we have confirmed human civilization outside the farms. This is actually a really good sign for our kids because it means "regular" human civilization is a thing that they can join.
