The Quarry is an Interactive Game developed by genre expert Supermassive Games and is considered a spiritual successor of the well-known 2015 game Until Dawn. Here you will be playing as several camp counselors (namely Laura Kearney, her boyfriend Max Brinly, Abigail Blyg, Dylan Lenivy, Emma Mountebank, Jacob Custos, Kaitlyn Ka, Nick Furcillo, and Ryan Erzahler) during their visit and stay at Hacket’s Quarry in which they thought would just be another enjoyable summer but would later turn out to be a night full of terror and danger where a simple mistake could result to their deaths.

A game which received Metacritic average scores of 79 (PC), 74 (PS5) and 78 (XSXS) which is lower when compared to its predecessor. Praises were made on the game’s great graphics, voice acting, engaging plot and story, and the nice mix of drama, horror and comedy. However, criticisms were made on its slow pacing, exploration, camera work, its narrative choices, and the overly large number of characters.

As for me, I liked the game but not I felt it was inferior to Until Dawn in which the only thing I found it was better was its better graphics, music and sound. It was lacking for me on interesting characters, the explorations are few and short compared to the 2015 game, the narrative choices did not impact much in later chapters and how it is less scary. Furthermore, its ending is so much worse, unsatisfying and obviously rushed. Still, I enjoyed the game since it still has more instances of funny and lighter moments than Until Dawn which is more serious. If you are a fan of interactive drama with a mix of horror and comedy, then this is a game for you. Enjoy!!!
