France calls for change, and the despotic Clockwork Tyrant, Louis XVI, responds with carnage and blood. As the populace rally under the command of the Third Estate, Queen Marie-Antoinette is sequestered at their country estate. Aegis, the queen's loyal automat bodyguard, is dispatched into the burning city of Paris to learn of the fate of her children and the truth of the king's madness. The first lead is to find Eugène de Vaucanson, the original inventor of the automats. As the queen says, what Vaucanson has done, only Vaucanson can undo.
