They had very low storage capacity, only about 1.44 micro bytes, and the most common 3.5 floppies. Tiny by today's standards, reading and writing the data was slow compared to later tech like CDs and USB flash drives. They also could be easily damaged by magnets. E dust or even bending. Plus they could degrade over time, leading to loss of data.
