Good horror and suspense films are all about build-up because if you show the monster too early, it loses some of its power. Jaws doesn't show the shark in full until the third act, and Halloween only briefly shows Michael Myers’ face as an adult, and they’re all the scarier for it.

Since Bird Box is all about intentionally blinding yourself to the monsters, it makes sense that the film would never reveal what said monsters actually look like, but this wasn’t actually the original plan. Let’s take a look at the real reason why we didn’t see the monsters in Bird Box.
