Today we learned it's not always the best idea to become a willing vassel to a liege. Especially when the life is the pope and has near-infinite resources from all his catholic holdings. We also learned that when there are heretics in Scotland you'd direct a crusade to put your family on the throne.
Finally just because you can revoke some land from people doesn't mean you should.
This Campaign is all about the coast. We're trying to reform the Roman republic but with none of that inland process noise. We're coastal civilization through and through. So anytime we have the miss fortune of controlling inland areas, we must dispense with them as quickly as possible. That's the challenge of making a purely maritime society.
