There’s so many stats a person can use to determine how much a shift affects a player’s production. To keep it as simple as possible, I used 3 stats that help create an idea of the types of hitters who will benefit the most without a shift.

A majority of shifts are to the pull side, which is why Pull % is used, the higher this number, the more likely a batter will hit into the shift.

Players with a low BABIP (or luck) means that not only they’re pulling the ball, but the hitter is also hitting it into the shift (not to sound redundant lol)

Obviously hitting the ball hard should equate to getting more hits and doing more damage. Which is why I included Hard Hit % in tandem with BABIP, pull side also correlates here but a shift can’t stop a home run so it could be misleading.

In short, High Pull %, Low BABIP and High Hard Hit% means that a player is most likely losing a lot of his stats in large part of the shift.
