Ok so here are some quick instructions and a few hints on the video that I might have left out. So the controls for live mode(f1), build(f3), buy(f2), and story mode(f10) are the same. Only movie mode(TAB) has extra controls to allow for better camera angles.
LIVE/BUILD/BUY/STORY
W-FORWARD, S-BACKWARD, A-LEFT, D-RIGHT, Z-ZOOM IN, X-ZOOM OUT, (COMMA) SPIN LEFT, (PERIOD) SPIN RIGHT, C- TAKE PICTURE, V-VIDEO, P-PLAY/PAUSE
MOVIE MODE
Q-DOWN, E-UP, SHIFT+A ROTATE LEFT, SHIFT+D ROTATE RIGHT, SHIFT+S CENTER CAMERA

To edit the Sims3.ini file you need to go to c:/myprograms(x86)/electronic arts/thesims3/game/bin. Copy the file for backup and move the original file to the folder of the latest expansion pack you have ie. /the sims 3 showtime/game/bin and paste it here. Next right click on notepad and open it with "run as administrator". Copy the maxQuality settings to all the lower settings, then change the medium and large size settings to fit your resolution on your monitor.

As for time lapse building, once you've finished an area (save it first) go out to live mode then back to build mode. Choose the grass paint section when you record it won't have the building lines. Simply delete the section starting with what you want to appear last. KEEP IN MIND THE GAME WILL ONLY REMEMBER A CERTAIN NUMBER OF DELETIONS SO DON'T BUILD YOUR ENTIRE HOUSE THEN TRY TO DELETE IT.
