## IF THE FILE WON'T LET YOU SAVE THEN GO TO NOTEPAD BY RIGHT CLICKING AND OPEN NOTEPAD AS ADMIN. THEN OPEN THE SIMS.INI FILE WHILE IN NOTEPAD THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SAVE IT.##

Sorry about the quality, it's easier to see at 720, so watch it in HD. Anyway here are the written instructions.
1: Go to C:/programfiles(x86)/electronic arts/the sims 3/game/bin and copy the file sims3.ini
2: Go to your latest expansion pack and paste the file in its folder. if you have showtime it would be electronic arts/the sims 3 showtime/game/bin
3: copy the MaxQuality Properties and paste it to all the other properties so that no matter which one you choose it will record at its highest settings.
4: change your recording video size according to your screen ratio. Mine is a 23 inch screen with a 16:9 ratio so my recording sizes are Large: 1640x924 and Medium: 1360x768.
so if your having trouble recording or your videos lag a bit this should help. The Legend apartment video was recorded on medium with a medium setting and it turned out just as good as the uncompressed settings.
