||| Back up your game |||
Go to your TS3 game folder and back up your saves, downloads, mods*, exports, screenshots and recorded videos folders to your desktop and an external source like a flash drive or external hard drive. You can never be too safe!
||| Uninstall your game |||
When your ready to re-install, go to the TS3 website to get the latest patch download link. It is safer in my own experiences to download the patch and then manually update it from my own pc. Safer and less likely to have errors. Install the base game and update it from the downloaded patch. I never auto update just because sometimes it will update while you still have your custom items installed and it can ruin your game. If you have CC then never auto update.

Install Order: Base, World Adventures, High End Loft, Ambitions, Fast Lane, Late Night,
Outdoor Living, Generations, Town Life, Pets, Master Suite, Showtime, Katy Perry's Sweet Treats, Diesel, Supernatural, Seasons, 70's, 80's, & 90's, University, Island Paradise, Movie Stuff, Into the Future
Put your backup files into the TS3 folder then open the launcher and install your downloads
WARNING!!! If you have CC remember that not all CC works with the latest patch. When you install the CC it may corrupt your game and cause it to not function. So be careful.
UPDATES!!
I - back up your game : Saves, Downloads and Exports and remove any custom folders that you added to the game
II - open the launcher, choose installed content and select all. You need to uninstall your custom content. For me it's just easier to uninstall all the added content. Check it twice!
III - go to the TS3 website to get the latest patch. If you download it, it will work better on your pc. It has for me anyway. Do not auto update. That has always been a problem on my pc.
IV - now that your cc is removed, install the patch
V - now that the patch has been installed, re-install your downloads and replace the custom content folders that you removed earlier.
