15Welcome to Crystal Confines, a Visual novel style RPG Maker game made in RPG Maker VX Ace by Ichigo, they're a part of the Astral Shift team that made Pocket Mirror and currently developing Little Goody Two Shoes.
"You play as Orphrey, a girl who is the Snowglobe’s bell keeper. Next to the Snowglobe sits the Hourglass, which contains a sense of time unlike the Snowglobe. A boy known as Galimatias lives within the Hourglass. Galimatias helps the neighboring village keep track of time by leaving written signals in the sand for Orphrey to ring her bell in sync to.
Help Orphrey ring the bell according to Galimatias’ queues and look for her lost letters!"
Both endings to this game are seen throughout the video along with the steps to acquire the harder to get ending, which is seen lastly. Visually this game has a really soft palette of colours that appeals to both younger and older audiences of rpg maker, the artwork itself is beautiful, Ichigo does a lovely job with her art along with her commissions that she does.
A few notes to say about the game thought, 15-20 minutes to complete the game is too short for how long it actually takes to go through all three phases of the day. Each phase consists of 5 minutes and the first one in particular is really tight to acquire all the notes, speak to everyone, find all of their dialogue lines on that phase before the time runs out. The other two phases don't have that constraint as there is not as much to interact with. Regardless of phase, there are a lot of lines to read so I would say between 30-40 minutes is a realistic time that it takes to complete Crystal Confines.
This is a nice one day break from my usual horror/dark game let's plays, sees a really bright side to rpg maker rather than my usual let's plays on something really negative or horror containing. I don't know how art works and be put together like Ichigo does, they're so sweet so go check them out along with Astral Shift.
