The Speech Design of Princess Garnet | 20 Years of Final Fantasy IX
Princess Garnet probably has the most unique speech design in Final Fantasy IX. It's all thanks to her position in-game and the situations she's involved in. Said situations affect how she acts and talks depending on context. In my opinion, her dialogue is a bit unappreciated since there's more function to it than "this is what she says". In fact, I'd argue that it's used to subtly aid in the character's growth and progression. Lets look into it and see how it affects her.
