The Trance System is one of the most defining features of Final Fantasy IX. It serves as the game's limit break with the intention of adding an extra layer to the game's battle mechanics. It's not just a super move that characters are allowed to do. It's even a part of the game's narrative which really helps in setting it apart from other Limit Breaks. However, the system isn't perfect. To some extent it is tied down by the flaws of the game's battle system. Lets see if there is more to that as I discuss Trance's heights and pitfalls.
