The story of Apollo 12 "The Second Step," with previously unseen images || Part 2. VIDEO
Apollo 12 was the second manned mission to land on the moon, and was launched on November 14, 1969. The crew consisted of astronauts Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon. The mission marked a number of firsts, including the first time a Lunar Module had landed near equipment already on the moon's surface. The crew conducted two moonwalks and collected rock and soil samples for analysis. They also deployed scientific instruments, including the first lunar seismometer, to study the moon's interior. The mission was considered a complete success, and the crew returned to Earth on November 24, 1969.
