The Succession of Changing Kings Gameplay | A New King Rises… & Immediately Falls | Have you Played?
In this first look at Succession of the Changing Kings, chaos, comedy, and cruel fate collide as I take the throne—only to fall (literally) just days into my reign. What begins as a hopeful new chapter for the kingdom ends in hilarious disaster, thanks to one poorly placed step and the unrelenting laws of gravity.
The Succession of Changing Kings puts you at the helm of a kingdom on the verge of disaster.
The lands that were once rich have now decayed into emptiness. The fields, once fertile with crops, are now covered in weeds. Trade routes have fallen silent, and the best people are leaving their homeland.
Construct buildings, hire subjects, decide the fate of your liegemen and take critical decisions that could influence the destiny of the whole domain.
Develop relations with the four key groups: nobility, army, church, and commoners. Remember, bad relations can bring all kinds of problems—including death.
The game is broken down into four acts, 25 turns per act, for a total of 100 turns to win the game. Each act tells a self-contained story that leads to your coronation. In every act, there are over 200 quests and events, some only available on replay.
There are more than 80 ways for the king to die.
In this standalone video, I:
• Step into the crown as a brand-new monarch
• Explore the world and reactive systems
• Try to do the right thing by my people
• Promptly meet my end in a tragic, unexpected fall
We take a slightly absurd journey into a world where death is inevitable, and power is fleeting. Whether you’re here for the clever writing, the emergent storytelling, or just to laugh at my ridiculously short reign, you’re in the right place.
It’s funny, it’s brutal, and it’s surprisingly poignant in how it reflects the futility—and hilarity—of power.
If you enjoy indie games with a narrative twist, roguelike mechanics, and absurd storytelling, this is one you don’t want to miss—even if it’s just for a single reign.
Enjoy the fall.
