The game is built around an episodic model, the five episodes—The Clocks Were Striking Thirteen, A Place Where There is No Darkness, Unperson, Memory Hole, and Under The Spreading Chestnut Tree—will come out once a week. With each episode, we will get deeper into the story and potentially uncover more information about the ongoing conspiracy against The Nation’s citizens in Orwell.
Orwell is a slow-paced game and predominantly text-based. Orwell asks the player to read through documents, read transcripts, and build out a file on suspects from information culled by the Orwell monitoring system. This let’s play Orwell Episode 2, A Place where there is No Darkness series will focus on the second time we log into Orwell and continue working on one of the first “test cases” for the new system. The Orwell full playthrough and guide promises to be an interesting look into the frightening possibility of total government surveillance. A poignant topics given recent events involving the NSA, Edward Snowden, and “citizen four.”
