THE SURGE - Episode 9 100% Clear | 4 Modifiers Active
A 100% clear of the final episode of The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented DLC with 4 modifiers active.
For the 100% clear all enemies were dispatched and all lootable items obtained. Lootable items from Episode 9 in order are:
1. Voltaic Dynamo v5
2. Plasmic Regenerator v5
3. Reclamation Buddy v5
4. Vital Injection v5
5. Rig Capacitor XXL
The 4 modifiers used:
LEECH - Player and enemies steal each other's life. No injectable use.
RUSH HOUR - A timer is set on Warren's life. Successful kills buy him more time.
DANGER CLOSE - Dying enemies drop power cores.
POLTERGUYS - Invisible enemies, visible weapons, lotsa pain.
The loadout and implants I chose are shown at the end.
Couple of tips that helped me:
TIP #1 - LEECH is the perfect modifier for this level. All the Nanite Mass enemies are super dangerous but because they attack slow you can trade with them easily with this modifier if your weapon isn't slow. Because of this you can hack away at them and regain full life before they can harm you, providing your defense is high enough obviously. But leech really does make it so that you can pretty much stand right in front of them and trade blows until they are ready to be overcharged.
TIP #2 - POLTERGUYS - Invisible enemies makes it impossible to determine weak spots, which can be problem against tough enemies. In Episode 9 though, the toughest enemies that you can limb target are the Chrysalis Trooper's, but they are fully armored, meaning it's irrelevant to look for unarmored limbs. At first I thought this meant not to target their limbs at all, just target them generally. But I definately found by targeting their head consistently my battles with them became easier. It might be confirmation bias or something, or it might just be that targeting their head helps. Give it a go, see what you think.
TIP #3 If you're struggling, farm Episode 6 with 4 modifiers. You'll get a ton of scrap to upgrade your core power, but more importantly you can also get the Tactile Omni-Boost v5 and Kinasthetic Amplifier v5 implants that boost your weapon proficiency. One of the reasons my run of this was pretty easy is the damage I'm putting out as a direct results of stacking weapon proficiency implants, and that is nearly entirely because of being able to farm for them in episode 6.
