The game is a follow up to Mars: War Logs. It is set to take place on Mars during the "War on Water", 200 years after humans colonized Mars. The main protagonist is a technomancer named Zachariah who is on the run from the secret police for reasons unknown. He is the only named character that has been divulged by the dvelopers.

There will be a number of different characters, including key enemies and members of the party that will be recruited and befriended and also creatures and monstersthat have not yet been named.

Players will assume the role of Zachariah. He can use his technomancy powers to enhance three different fighting styles which involve staffs for long range attacks and the ability to target multiple enemies, ranged combat using a knife and gun allowing the player to be more agile and a traditional tank style with a mace and shield allowing the player to block and parry. In addition Zachariah can use his skills to electrocute enemies directly, stunning or knocking them out.

GAMEPLAY

There are three styles of combat. The player can add companions to their party, who can then level up. The player will also be able to improve their own combat abilities, and they can make different choices about how to solve each quest. Quests can be completed in a variety of ways, which will have an effect on the ending the player ultimately gets. There will be five different endings.

The game will feature a modular crafting system which will affect the appearance and characteristics of weapons and armour. Most of these are designed to reflect the harsh environment and landscape of life on Mars

DEVELOPMENT

The game was first announced on 10 April 2015. Spiders wrote an open letter to PlayStation Blog accompanied by a new trailer for the game. A 13 minute gameplay video was released on June 8, 2015, and another five minute video was released on June 21, 2015.

The Technomancer shares some themes and ideas with Spiders previous release Mars: War Logs and both games also feature a heavy cyberpunk aesthetic.

The game is set to be released in 2016 and will be released on PC, PS4 & Xbox One.
