This is a Let's Play of Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, a remake of the game Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom developed by Purple Lamp for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC that released in 2020. The original game was an adventure/puzzle/platform game in the style of Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie that came out in 2003 for the Playstation 2, Gamecube, and Xbox. In Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom, Spongebob finds his world overrun with a robot army that Plankton made to attack the Krusty Krab, which he mistakenly believes to be his fault. The robots have malfunctioned, no longer listening to Plankton, causing them to run amok around Bikini Bottom. To progress, Spongebob must collect Golden Spatulas to unlock new areas, and runs into many references from the Spongebob TV show on the way. Known as one of the greatest licensed games of all time, there are few games from its era more deserving of a remake!
As this is a 100% Let's Play, we will be collecting every Golden Spatula and Sock in the game, as well as showing off as many Easter Eggs and differences from the original game as we can.
In this episode, we conclude travel to our second boss battle at the Industrial Park, where we face off against Robo-Patrick, collecting the Golden Spatula "Robo-Patrick Ahoy!". This then unlocks for us the Cruise Bubble, a guided bubble missile, which we begin to use in the third phase of the Bikini Bottom hub, Bottom Feeder Lane, to collect the Golden Spatula "On Top of the Chum Bucket". But just then, Joe Whyte Krabs informs us that the Krusty Krab has been overrun by robots, so it's up to us to clear them out in "Infestation at the Krusty Krab". With all this out of the way, we collect the last few Socks hidden around the hub, before backtracking to Jellyfish Fields to get a few remaining Socks using the Bubble Bowl and the Cruise Bubble, and finally returning to Downtown Bikini Bottom to get the last Sock we missed, as well as obtain the only Golden Spatula we had to skip in the mission "Come Back with the Cruise Bubble".
