I'm probably overextending my bounds here. But I thought I'd share a list of what I consider to be the best marches in motion picture history.

A simple criteria I utilize for these compositions is simply that they have to have been expressly composed for the movie in question. Pieces like the "Colonel Bogey March" won't qualify, as it was originally composed in 1914, later utilized in "The Bridge Over The River Kwai", for which it is most famous.

Richard Rogers composed a multitude of exceptional marches for the "Victory At Sea" series, but unfortunately, this doesn't qualify either as it applies to a television program.

Anyway, here is the list, for what it's worth?

Do you have a top list? Please share some of your favorites.
