The Tune that Helped Redefine the Sound of Modern Doom Music (Within the MIDI - Ep. 4)
Another episode Within the MIDI is here! This series is where we analyze the inner workings (music theory, composing techniques, etc.) of Doom WAD MIDIs and see what makes them sound great in the process.
For our fourth episode, we'll be heading down a slightly different path with “Fireblu Baptism” by MegaSphere from 2022's Not Even Remotely Fair. While not the first to do so, this piece (as with the entire NERF soundtrack) helped popularize the sounds of genres like hip-hop, R&B, and dance, which, historically, have been less commonly heard in Doom WAD MIDI music.
