The Ultimate Game Boy Advance 2022 with the Laminated IPS LCD Mod - Inside Look!
7This is a video where I give you an inside look of this beautiful laminated IPS LCD mod for this ultimate 2022 Game Boy Advance console featuring the process of the mod & because I removed the foam/sponge inside of the console, the foam seemed rather loose when reassembling the GBA with this new LCD & I felt like I didn't really need the foam, even though FunnyPlaying suggests using the foam for this mod. I found that when I use the bracket for this laminated LCD without using the foam, it seemed a little bit easier for the installation & to hold the touch sensor in place, I used a piece of double sided tape to stick on the back of the lens & the placed the touch sensor on there so it wouldn't move when the foam is not used.
The Game Boy Advance laminated IPS LCD mod kit made by FunnyPlaying & the size of the display is the exact same size as the original & AGS-101 LCDs. This laminated IPS LCD features 15 brightness levels by tapping the touch sensor on the left side of the GBA logo, the OSD menu functionality with 3 wires soldered onto the GBA motherboard & using the L, R, & select buttons, the LCD sits right on the LCD as shown with all viewable angles, retro pixel mode, & color filters that this laminated IPS LCD mod kit has! While I used an arctic white shell made for this laminated LCD, the best part about this LCD is that no dust will come on top of the LCD or under the lens & it is a more realistic display effect! Thus, this laminated LCD is much like the LCDs on a smartphone, Nintendo Switch consoles, & more electronics with that beautiful laminated LCD! This GBA is in fact the exact same one that I did in April of this year to make it the ultimate GBA with a mirror clear shell, an ITA TFT (DSi bottom) LCD mod, an audio amp, new capacitors by Helder Game Tech as well as a USB-C battery mod that I did on August 29th. As of this video, I replaced the pre-trimmed battery door for the rechargeable battery mod with a USB-C connector with a white one & it matches to the beige/arctic white shell partly which I don’t find too bad.
