The list that follows is, in no way, shape or form, meant to disrespect any devs and their games. It's solely based on my opinion and a comparison between a barrage of Backrooms and Liminal games. Some are indeed better than others, and some prove that, albeit small, indie games have the power to tackle the most obscure and foreign concepts.
The Backrooms is a concept that shouldn't work as a a game, and, alas, I find myself loving and looking for the best out there.
Some of them rely heavily on entities and chase sequences and hence loose , what, in my opinion, makes the Backrooms such a creepy concept; existential dread. Being lost and trapped in a world that doesn't abide by normal rules, and where survival is nigh impossible.
