In today's video we explore Deck 1 of the USS Enterprise D including the turbo lift, main bridge, captain's ready room and the observation lounge all while I discuss this amazing fan-made project called Stage 9 that allowed users to explore the USS Enterprise D in virtual reality. Unfortunately, CBS and Paramount, who hold the rights to the Star Trek franchise, forced the developers to cease work on the project and it was removed from public distribution before it could be completed.

As a lifelong Star Trek fan and VR enthusiast, it was disappointing to see this incredible project come to an end. For those of us who were fortunate enough to experience this, being able to step aboard the USS Enterprise D and explore the ship in virtual reality was a dream come true. The amount of detail that the Stage 9 VR team put into recreating the Enterprise D was truly impressive! You could explore the bridge, the transporter room, several of the crews quarters, and many more all too familiar locations scattered around the ship.

Despite the disappointment, I hold out hope that one day an official Star Trek VR experience will be available... One that will allow players to fully explore and interact with the USS Enterprise D and other iconic ships and locations in the franchise. Until then, I'll just have to keep dreaming and reminiscing about the incredible experience that Stage 9 VR provided.
