The Who Sell Out Album Review
The Who Sell Out is the third album by The Who from 1967. This album follows a radio style format where there are bumpers and advertisements in between the songs on the album. Similarly, the album also follows a bit of a theme of the songs all sounding different, like you are listening to singles by multiple bands on the radio between the ad breaks. It is a bit of a gimmick, but one that works well in my opinion.
Pete Townshend continues to polish up his writing skills, reaching his lyrical prime here. Roger Daltrey doesn’t shine as much on this album as several of the subsequent ones, but he does do well with what he has. Keith Moon and John Entwistle haven’t seen as much improvement, but that is fine as they were great on the previous two albums and are great here as well.
