The Witcher 2 Retrospective - Faithfully Continuing The Books
Ten years ago, CD Projekt Red released The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, the predecessor to one of the most critically acclaimed video games of all time. With its excellent grey storytelling, likeable characters, and enjoyable gameplay, the Witcher 2 managed to faithfully bring Polish author Andrej Sapkowski's fictional world to life while simultaneously expanding the Witcher universe.
In this video, I take a look back at this incredible game and examine how it manages to achieve all of this while also setting the stage for its incredible sequel, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I also discuss the fundamentals of the Witcher 2's gameplay, and how each section of the game contributes to telling its well-written and epic story.
