Hey everyone,

Here is a guide for this week’s Xbox Game Pass Rewards Quest in The Witcher 3 for “Getting 12 kills.”

Estimated Time Required: 5-10 Minutes
Achievements Unlocked?: Potentially (if you kill 5 enemies in under 10 seconds you will unlock the Butcher of Blaviken achievement and if you kill 5 enemies without taking damage you will unlock the Can’t Touch This achievement)
Game Size: 40 GB
XCloud Game?: No
Can Begin on Ready to Start?: Yes, but you can't skip cutscenes/tutorials.
Unlocks on PC?: No
Known Issue(s): Will not unlock if you use the GOTY edition (thanks u/KED528). You MUST use the regular base version of the game available on Game Pass. These are apparently separate games with different achievement lists.

1) Start the game
2) Select New Game
3) Choose Just the Story as your difficulty
4) Turn off tutorials (if you want)
5) Turn off simulate Witcher 2 save
6) Start the game
7) Press X to skip cutscenes if it will allow you
8) Once you load into the starting room, walk straight over to the small desk and “examine” the key that’s on the open book. This will pick the key up.
9) On your immediate left, there is now a locked door that you can now open. Go through the door and down the steps and you’ll get sucked into a cutscene.
10) Mash X until your fingers fall off to skip the dialogue. Answer any dialogue that you have to with UNTIL you get to the kid.
11) On the second dialogue option for the kid, CAREFULLY don’t just mash buttons and hit choose “Not this time. [Skip Tutorial]”
12) Once you get to the next dialog area at the bottom of the castle, mash X a bunch and then on the second dialogue option select “Let’s go straight to free training [Skip Tutorial].”
13) After you skip the tutorial, you’ll have more cutscenes and then mash X a whole bunch more, select “Really rather not talk about it” on your first dialogue option, and then mash X again until you get to select “That’s private.”
14) Mash X to end the dialogue until the ghouls show up and start to attack.
15) IF YOU DO NOT WANT AN ACHIEVEMENT, be careful when killing the ghouls to not kill all 5 within 10 seconds. You will unlock an achievement for this. You will also want to take damage while fighting the enemies so that you don’t unlock a different achievement (killing 5 enemies without taking damage). You will just use X to attack the ghouls with your sword quick attack.
16) Once you kill the initial set of ghouls, don’t follow Vesemir, but instead walk down the hill towards the water (perpendicular away from the road). You’ll see five more ghouls at the bottom. Kill the ghouls and remember, don’t kill them too quickly and make sure to take damage if you don’t want to get any achievements.
17) Once you kill the second set of ghouls, hit the back button (view button) and load the Kaer Morhen checkpoint save. This will start you at the conversation with Vesemir next to your horses before you begin to fight. Repeat from step 13 and you should unlock the quest in the first set of enemies.
