These improvements to Apple Maps in iOS 17 may finally convince you to abandon Google Maps.
The iPhone lock screen will experience more changes in iOS 17, as we just revealed, and now we're learning more about how those changes will affect Apple Maps in particular.

Apple insider @analyst941(opens in new tab), a frequent source of information about the company, claims that iOS 17 will include a new 'Live Activity' interface to Apple's built-in navigation tool. When the iPhone is locked, active Apple Maps directions currently take up the full screen, but this new feature will only allow them to take up the bottom two-thirds. The torch and camera controls are also reachable, and the time and date are shown in the upper third of the screen.
