Steel Assault is a 16-bit retro-style action platformer. As someone who loves old school video games this game got me instantly hooked, amazing soundtrack, nice visuals and challenging level design. My only grip with it is that the levels are short and so is the entire game, it turned out to be a 1 hour playthough for me. This let's play is my edited first run of it.

There's also a Arcade mode which allows you to play through the game without the dialogues to see how fast you can beat the game.
