This is RPG Maker 2003 and released in 2024? Whaaa..? | Beloved Rapture - First Impressions
4To explain the title, Beloved Rapture is released in 2024, but in reality, it's a much older game. Done in very outdated RPG Maker 2003.
Googling this game brings up 2 kickstarter campaigns, one from 2014 and 2nd one from 2019. Both these campaigns "release dates" were obviously not delivered and many challenges happened, including some people's names I wish I didn't see again while looking at kickstarter's updates. Interesting enough, if you google Beloved Rapture art from 2014 kickstarter, you will find deviantart sources by artist "lily kat", and meanwhile their art is posted on 2014, it says in description that it was from 8 years ago (could be updated description in 2022, without leaving a note about it though). Also that artist put links to "the game" that leads to gamejolt (rip gamejolt, very old site) and rpgmaker.net/games/8/ (so this game was registered as number 8, in the entire list of games, in 2014?). Both links are dead, so there is no way to confirm about 2008 version of Beloved Rapture unless there is something in the deep web. So as you can see, this game was already in the dev/concept/draft phase for much longer apparently. And the dev cycle was very long and slow, with minimum funds. But here it is, finally commercially released in 2024.
This also explains why this game had some obvious issues which I covered in my initial critique in the "First Impressions" video, if this is done in RPG Maker 2003!
