MY REVIEW
Lone Fungus took a lot of inspirations from the most popular indie platformers in the last 10 years, like Hollow Knight, Celeste, and Ori. And it works! This game's strongest point is in the platforming mechanic. There are a lot of platforming mechanic spread across the world and various ability power ups that you can get through exploration.
However, the game feels off in its combat mechanic. Enemies seems to be missing some "juice", like telegraphing their attack and exciting effects. I do hope that other bosses deeper in the game will bring more excitement!
Overall, this game is definitely on the right track to be one of the best metroidvania release of the year. It just needs more time on refining in its early access phase. Be sure to support it!
