In this episode of TFBTV, @JamesReeves interviews Mr. Stanislav Strizic, an engineer for CZ and a member of the design and testing team for the original CZ-75. Mr. Strizic designed a competition version of the Vz. 58 which was never commercially released, thus, only two prototypes exist.

The Vz. 58, or Vzor 58, is a rifle that was developed in the late 1950s in Czechoslovakia. Despite its visual similarity to the Soviet AK-47, it features a unique design and operation mechanism. The Vz. 58 uses a short-stroke gas piston system, differing from the AK-47's long-stroke gas system, and has a distinct locking system where the bolt locks into the receiver. It fires the 7.62×39mm cartridge. Notable for its relatively lightweight construction, achieved through the use of aluminum alloy in various parts, the Vz. 58 was adopted by the Czechoslovak military in 1958.
