In my previous video showing Castlevania for NES in Mesen I showed two versions of these HD Packs. One, the "SD" pack with slightly improved color and the other, the "HD" pack with vastly improved graphics and music. The weird thing is the first time I loaded the "SD" pack (shown in video) it did change the graphics but not the music. Watching that video now it seemed to be just playing the stock NES music. However when I loaded it up again the next day it did change the music! The music here is not the same "CD-Audio" like music in the "HD" pack but more like something you'd hear on the Sharp X68000.

That got me thinking is the "SD" pack based on the Sharp X68000 version? I mean are they trying to "emulate" the graphics and sound from that version? Also, if that's the case is the "HD" pack based on some Castlevania remaster too? I know for example they redid these games on a PSP collection at one time. Anyway, I just wanted to show this as I think the music in this version is really awesome and overall I prefer it over the "HD" pack as it's more true to the original. Again, the music here is not "CD-Audio" as it still sounds very much like some kind of real-time FM synth mixed with MIDI sound fonts hence the thought it could be from the X68000 or something similar.
