This ONE Thing is Paramount to the Success in Ashes of Creation
In this video I go through the topic that makes or breaks any game, which is world design. World design needs to be immersive, the stories need to be good and the challenge needs to exist to grow and cultivate a healthy player population. Games that struggle to make an immersive world struggle with new player and veteran player retention.
We've seen this in the past with other hyped MMORPGs released in the past, most notably New World. In my opinion, New World leaned to heavily into believing their world and the potential pvp in it was enough, which has lead them to overhauling their main story quest line.
In this video I go through other games that nailed world design via stories and difficulty, and attempt to draw the connections where Ashes is headed on the right path.
