I was scrolling on youtube not too long ago, as I often do. And apart from the content, carefully selected for me by youtube.

I came across a video from popular Metal Gear Online youtuber: Solid007

If you do not know who Solid is, he is a pilar in the metal gear online community. He has been playing since the official release and I highly encourage you to check out his channel.

But in this video Solid talks about the well known youtuber, SSSniperWolf and her then boyfriend xRemembrance playing MGO2.

From the video it can be inferred that the renowned content creator, SSSniperWolf used to play metal gear online. Or at the very least, participated in the community, alongside her boyfriend at the time, xRememberance.

Metal Gear Online 2 is a tactical team online espionage game. It expands on the previous installment of online released by Konami for Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in 2006. the servers for MGO2 were originally shut down by Konami in 2012 and have since been resurrected by a team of dedicated fans.

The Metal Gear games have always been well known and widely received for their amazing storytelling, as well as their memorable characters and… Memes. One character in particular from the series we’ll be talking about is: Sniper Wolf, no not that Sniper Wolf. this Sniper Wolf.

A former child solider for the Iraqi government, and sorta spoilers but sniper wolf followed Big Boss until his supposed “death” in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. she was then recruited by Liquid Snake, who lead his team, FOXHOUND, in the Shadow Moses incident in Metal Gear Solid. However things take a turn for the worst, when they go rogue and take command of the bipedal tank known as Metal Gear (Rex.)

This brings me to the real reason why I’m talking about Sniper Wolf and Metal Gear Online, and that is SSSniperWolf. Yes, this SSSniperWolf. We can finally talk about her now.

SSSniperWolf is an influential youtuber, apart from her reaction videos, she has some metal gear videos but they are all almost a decade old. It seems as her channel began to grow in popularity, the amount of metal gear content she produced declined. She no longer posts anything related to Metal Gear and a majority of her current content is just reaction videos.

Now if I’m being honest, I never knew SSSniperWolf actually played MGO. I always thought that she just used the name of the character, Sniper Wolf for her own name, without actually playing any of the Metal Gear games. A real Decoy Octopus.

While I’ll give her credit for maybe actually playing some of the games, I won’t give her credit for her uploads. because they’re just gimmicky, click bait, reaction videos with overly exaggerated thumbnails. It looks like she uses these to generate a lot of views without, producing any type of meaningful content. Oh and to promote her merch…

Yea okay…

Like I almost wish Sniper Wolf would play MGO today and stream it and see how that goes. I don’t think she would stand a chance against any of the players today. And I just think it’s odd her name is Sniper Wolf when she barely has any Metal Gear content. And doesn’t play any of the games. Anyways this is just my take on it. Bye.
