The influencers are all wrong. Udio isn't going to take over the world. It's in beta, and very much so. Here's what happens when you try to make a normal song with it. I generated the lyrics in Windows 11 Copilot and couldn't even feed all them into Udio without hitting AI tech limits.

Udio is Beta, and has lots of beta bugs one would expect from beta software. The influencers are just getting razzle-dazzled by its improved output quality over services like Suno.

Never completely believe clickbait influencers who play the algorithm and plaster themselves all over your search results. They're always trying to sell you something, usually via sponsored segments, and they always have a conflict of interest.

- Udio cannot do a simple radio style song. If you feed the same chorus twice, it won't sing it the same way twice. You can't use [Repeat Chorus] either.
- Udio has a 4 minute limit after which it won't let you extend the song further. You can only generate about 30 seconds of song at a time.
- Results are mixed with something as simple as a guitar solo. You get them when you don't want them (like we see here) and other times you fight to keep the AI from hallucinating regardless of whether you use a [Guitar Solo] tag or click Instrumental.
- Entire genres with longer songs like Prog are completely off the table.
- Because of its current limitations as of April 2024, Udio is limited to short segments of more meandering genres. I'm thinking of trying a showtune duet next.
- A lot of AI YouTube influencers have lost a lot of credibility to me after getting into the nitty gritty with the Udio public beta. They're full of hot air and coast on their own inertia due to getting lots of views and having lots of subs.

Just your latest reason to not believe everything you hear on the internet and to test things yourself lol. πŸ™‚
