Thomas Vermaelen: Arsenal Captain
68With Robin Van Persie departing Arsenal Football Club for Manchester United, the captaincy was up for grabs. Arsene Wenger announced today that Thomas Vermaelen, the 26 year old centre back for the Gunners, will be the skipper. Vermaelen has been with Arsenal since 2009 after leaving Ajax. Mikel Arteta will serve as his deputy.
